John 19  •  10/6/15

Crucifixion was a unique, and horribly painful, form of execution. It was not the way Jews executed someone. It was the way the Romans executed people. Jesus was crucified in order to fulfill prophecy - not the least of which was His own, see Matthew 20.18-19

What did it mean when Jesus said “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up.”  (John 3.14) (Numbers 21.6-9)

Why do you suppose that prophecy - and the accuracy of prophecy - is important? Does it mean anything to you?
